The Power of the Share

There is a button on Facebook far more valuable than the like button...

Share - it has more power than you might imagine. It is far more valuable than many paid advertisements or boosted posts.

The average person on Facebook has 200-300 friends. Sharing a post from a small business promoting their services or product is essentially that individual's way of vouching for your business to all of their friends.

Just one or two shares can double or triple your audience. But, not every post gets shares and that is ok. When you do have a post you want shared there are a few things to keep in mind that will help you ensure maximum shares.

An Eye Catching Graphic or Photo

Facebook's algorithm puts posts with photos or graphics at the top of news feeds. Make sure your posts have images that will catch the attention of someone as they scroll.

Interesting Content

Make sure your content is relevant and interesting to your audience; news, tips, or something worth bragging about are usually great ways to start. But, think of who your audience is and ensure your posts are relevant to them.

Post Timing

Know what day and what time your followers are online. Social media management platforms can help with this. Posting at the wrong time can prevent even the best posts from getting the traction you expect.
